How many athletes are on the U.S. Olympic Team that will compete in Beijing? This is one of many questions answered in a recent L.A. Times piece about Olympic statistics.
The answer, of course, is 596.
How many men are on the U.S. Olympic Team? 310.
How many women are on the U.S. Olympic Team? 286.
There are several other interesting statistics -- For example, the youngest American athlete in Beijing will be 15-year-old Mary Beth Dunnichay of the 10-meter synchro team.
Also, there will be 3 five-time Olympians on the team, as well as 12 four-time Olympians.
