As USAToday reported yesterday, three siblings -- Steven, Mark, and Diana Lopez -- are determined to be members of the U.S. Olympic Judo Team when it competes in the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
Steven has already qualified. Mark and Diana will attempt to follow suit in December.
Earlier this year, Diana inadvertently became part of an Olympic controversy. After she defeated rival Nia Abdallah in an August 24, 2007 match, Abdallah sued the U.S. Olympic Committee claiming that the refereeing was unfair. The lawsuit was dismissed.
While the Lopez family works together to make it to the Olympics, several U.S. Olympic couples are doing the same in running sports.
