Yesterday the U.S. Women's Basketball Team won the gold medal in the FIBA Americas Championship. The championship was a qualifying tournament for the Olympics, so Team U.S. is guaranteed an appearance in Beijing in 2008.
Although the Men's Basketball Team disappointed many by settling for a bronze medal in 2004, the Women's Basketball Team has won the past three Olympics. They have a good chance of making it four in 2008. Hopefully, the Men's Team will win the gold, as well.
