Laura Berg, Member of U.S. Olympic Softball Team in 2008

This biography of Laura Berg, a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Softball Team that will go to Beijing, may be altered from time to time as new information becomes available.

Born January 6, 1975, Laura was raised in a family of six. She has two brothers and a twin sister, Randi. Laura's parents enrolled her and her twin sister in little league.

She is 5' 7" and plays centerfield. She played softball at Fresno State from 1994 through 1998, where she was a four-time All-American. She has since served on the school's coaching staff.

Laura has been a member of the U.S. softball team since 1994. As a member of the team, she has already won gold medals at three Olympics, in 1996, 2000, and 2004.

She described the Olympics in this way:

It’s so exciting and an honor to represent the U.S and it’s just something I consider myself lucky to be a part of. When you walk out on the field and see the crowd cheering for you…it’s really something else.
