Contrary to what the media would have you believe, there are members of the U.S. Olympic Judo Team with last names other than Lopez. Take, for example, Brian Olson, who was just voted Team Captain.
Team Captain Olson was quoted as saying:
"Coming off a three-year layoff and this being a younger team with a lot of first-time Olympians, I've very honored that everybody had come to a group consensus that I should be the captain."
